Recently returned from victory in India, Southern Stars Ellyse Perry and Rachael Haynes will be bringing the T20 and ODI World Cups to the Bradman Museum & International Cricket Hall of Fame on Saturday, 13 April 2013.

This weekend the Bradman Museum and Cricket Australia are pleased to host the 50th anniversary reunion of the 1963 Australian women’s cricket team that toured England.
During a time of change in society the 1963 tourists were pioneers for women’s cricket under the leadership of Captain Mary Allitt and manager Lorna Thomas MBE. This was the first tour of England by a female team in 12 years. This team was also the first women’s team (either Australian or English) to be invited by the committee of the MCC to dine with committee members in the famous ‘Long Room’ at Lord’s. Lorna Thomas MBE was also one of the first women admitted to membership of the MCC.

To coincide with the 1963 Australian Women’s Cricket Team 50th year reunion, the Bradman Museum is presenting A History of Australian Women’s Cricket. The exhibit will feature a number of never before seen women’s cricketing objects and photographs from the archive.

The Museum is pleased to welcome members of the public to meet Ellyse and Rachael and to have their photos taken with the two world cups. The girls will be visiting the Museum between 1:00pm – 4:00pm, Saturday 13th April 2013.

Executive Director, Rina Hore encourages all young girls and their friends interested in cricket, soccer or any sport not to miss this opportunity to meet Australia’s leading female sporting stars!

Great opportunity to get your photo taken with Perry, Haynes and the two World Cups, courtesy of Cricket Australia.

Entry to the Museum is free for Bradman Ambassadors and Members so be sure to bring your families and friends!
