Fire engines, Police Cars and the Triple Zero Challenge
Where: Bradman Oval
Time: 9:30am – 3pm
Date: Wednesday 13 April
Watch the men and women of our local Emergency Services, SES, Police, Ambulance Officers, Paramedics, and Fire and Rescue, take to the field for a day of cricket and good fun. Their vehicles will be on display around the precinct of Bradman Oval for visitors to inspect, climb up and be photographed with.
Talk cricket with special guests former Test Cricketers’ Len Pascoe and David Gilbert.
The NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW State Emergency Service in collaboration with the Bradman Foundation and Wingecarribee Shire Council, came together in the spirit of sportsmanship and harmony to play cricket and to raise funds to support a local youth focused charity.
Over $4000 was raised last year for the Highland Youth Hub in Bowral and we’re aiming high again when we support the Southern Highlands Suicide Prevention Program (SHSPP) in 2016. The SHSPP has been operating for over 10 years with no official funding relying solely on small grants, donations from individuals and volunteers to provide assistance to those in need.
Sir Donald Bradman’s vision was “to engage, inspire and educate” our youth in the community and in 2016 as in the three previous years, the event is held during Youth Week and the NSW School Vacation. Our triple zero teams in conjunction with the continuous cricket match provide fantastic interactive displays and activities for the whole community designed to raise the awareness of the important role they play within our community and the opportunities that exist to become involved. The Museum is open from 10am – 5pm.
Former Australian Cricketers Len Pascoe and David Gilbert will be attending along with a selection of fire trucks, paramedics, police and rescue vehicles for the public display and photo opportunities.
