Understand the elements of The Game – the team, the spirit, the field and the people involved.
With cutting edge technology, interactive touch-screens and much more, The International Cricket Hall of Fame is dedicated to promoting the game of cricket not just to the keen followers of the game but to all who wonder, what is cricket and why is it so important to millions of people around the world?
Cricket is Australia’s national summer sport and has become one of the most popular sports, for players and spectators, in the world. After your visit to The International Cricket Hall of Fame, you will have a deep appreciation of cricket, the game Sir Donald Bradman described as ‘the greatest character builder of all our sports’.
Whether you are a cricket tragic, or simply interested in learning more about one of the world’s most popular sports, The International Cricket Hall of Fame provides an exciting and educational day out for the whole family.
The Game Gallery can answer the question – What is cricket? Use the large touch-screens to view different batting strokes and bowling techniques, play on the interactive fielding table, and position your players strategically to win a game.
Located less than ninety minutes from both Sydney and Canberra, in Sir Donald Bradman’s home town of Bowral, this new attraction incorporates innovative and interactive displays that will engage and inform you.
Live footage from around the world, touch screen kiosks, fascinating memorabilia and the ability to join the cricket commentary team are just a few of the exhibits that will keep you entertained for hours.
The International Cricket Hall of Fame is set in the beautiful surrounds of Bradman Oval, and includes a café and gift store in the complex.
Bradman Foundation Chairman Michael Ball said that a key difference between TICHOF and any other cricket museum is that it is not built around objects. “While there are numerous fascinating objects, particularly relating to Bradman, what visitors experience is an interactive digital exposition of cricket through the ages. Visitors will be able to drill down to the subject which most interests them.”
