It’s the rivalry off the field that looks set to dominate the headlines this week with the Sixers on track to smash the domestic record of 32,823 set when the two Clubs last met on December 27 at ANZ Stadium.

With almost twice as many tickets pre-sold for this match as for the first Sydney Smash game, the record looks set to tumble as the Sixers aim for a semi-finals berth.

The record crowd is also likely to be the biggest at the SCG this summer, beating the 30,161 that attended day one of the Test match earlier this month.

In addition to the aim of breaking the domestic cricket crowd number for NSW, the Sixers will be providing a number of reasons to attend outside of just the action on the field.

The Sixers Principal Partner, iiNet, will unveil the new Sixers Club song with Justice Crew doing the honours at the innings break. The song, written by Members and fans with the help of a Sony Producer, will be performed as one of two songs on the night.

Kids will also eat for free on the Sixers with a BBQ for the first 3,000 kids through the gate available on the night. With the Daily Telegraph’s front page ticket, published in Thursday’s paper, kids can pick up a sausage on a roll and a juice as they enter the ground.

The night will also mark the last time Brett Lee will play at the SCG, with Binga Masks to be handed out to the crowd, highlights on the big screen of Brett’s career, and farewell messages for the legendary bowler to be highlighted throughout the match.

Sydney Sixers General Manager, Dominic Remond, predicts this could be the game of the season for the magenta men.

“It really is building up to be a perfect storm this week,” Remond said.

“We have a finals defining game against our cross town rivals and the opportunity to break the record for the biggest Sydney crowd for a domestic game.

“There is something for everyone. Justice Crew sing our new Club song live, we have our Kids Eat Free promotion and the chance to farewell Binga at the SCG. Ticket sales are very encouraging so far, so we urge our fans to pre purchase to avoid delays and wear your magenta proudly as Sydney Smash 07 will be the hottest ticket in town.”

Tickets for the game are selling fast so head to to pre-purchase and avoid disappointment and queuing at the gate.SYDNEY_SIXERS_CMYK
