Sydney Sixers and Sony Foundation continue to hit cancer for six

The Sydney Sixers will once again join forces with the Sony Foundation for the upcoming BBL03 season, raising funds and awareness for the charity’s You Can program.

Moises Henriques was joined by Christine Attia, 21, at a launch this morning held at the site of the under construction You Can treatment centre at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

Christine is currently undergoing treatment for a rare type of cancer at Prince of Wales Hospital with support from the Sony Foundation and You Can Program.

Currently in Australia, turning 16 can halve your chances of surviving certain cancers due to a lack of access to specialized care and services.

The Sony Foundation’s youth cancer campaign You Can is establishing specialised youth cancer centres around Australia to address the gap in care that currently exists for patients aged 16-25.

The Prince of Wales You Can Centre is being built as part of the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre (NCCC) which is currently under construction.

The NCCC at Prince of Wales Hospital will provide world-class facilities for the people of south-eastern Sydney and the countless others who travel to the Randwick hospital campus from around NSW for cancer treatment and quality care.

The first dedicated You Can Centre has opened at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth.

The Sixers and Sony Foundation will partner for the match against the Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday 15 January.

BBL|03 is now less than a week away and as the temperatures rise heading into summer, so does the action behind the scenes as the Sixers work to ‘magentify’ the SCG and convert it into Sydney’s Party Central.

Four home matches over the course of the school holidays and a ticket price of just $42.50 for a family of four make this year’s Big Bash the hottest and best value ticket in town.

Tickets are on sale now through Ticketek.
