In addition to attending the Bradman Gala Dinner alongside Steve Waugh AO as the 2014 Bradman Honourees India’s Sachin Tendulkar AM will be travelling to the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame on Thursday 30th October.

Tendulkar was identified by Sir Donald Bradman early in his career as the batsman whose technique most closely resembled his own. As Tendulkar’s career blossomed, he complemented his cricketing ability with beguiling modesty, managing his massive fame with integrity, dignity and humility –characteristics articulated and demonstrated by Sir Donald throughout his long life.

Tendulkar will arrive around 11.15 am on Thursday arriving in superstar style, via helicopter and he’ll be met by students from the University of Wollongong, the Bradman Foundation’s education partner and the students of Bowral Public School; where Sir Donald Bradman went to school and he may perhaps even join in their games on Bradman Oval.

Tendulkar is one of the International Cricket Hall’s twenty ‘Greats of the Game’ which are honoured in the Museum’s International Gallery. Tendulkar will see this and more when he receives a personal guided tour of the Museum by the esteemed curator David Wells. Whilst inside the Museum Tendulkar will also have time to meet with the Museum’s long-serving volunteers and have his photograph taken by the famous ‘final salute’ bronze statue in the Bradman courtyard which is situated next to the garden where Lady Jessie and Sir Donald Bradman’s ashes were scattered in 2001.
The Bradman Foundation is honoured to welcome Tendulkar to the Museum, especially the morning after he and Waugh are inducted as the 2014 Bradman Honourees joining the likes of Alan Davidson AM MBE, Dennis Lillee AM MBE and Mark Taylor AO.
