Records fell in droves at North Sydney Oval yesterday as New South Wales defeated Victoria in an amazing afternoon of hitting.
Both teams provided centurions who played superb innings, with Brad Hodge’s 144 from 123 balls, later being eclipsed by an incredible display of batting from Daniel Smith who hit 185 not out from 123 balls, with 13 fours and 12 sixes.

Highest ever score by a New South Wales batsman during an Australian domestic one day match – Dan Smith 185 not out
(Previous record held by Phil Jaques with 171 not out v Queensland at the SCG in the Ford Ranger Cup in February, 2010)
Most number of sixes by an individual during an Australian domestic one day match – Dan Smith 12
(Previous record held by David Warner with 9 for NSW v Tasmania at Hurstville Oval in 2008-09)
Most sixes in an innings by a team during an Australian domestic one day match – New South Wales 15
(Previous record was shared with 13 by New South Wales (against Western Australia at North Sydney Oval in 2004-05) and Tasmania (against South Australia in Hobart in 2004-05)
Most aggregate sixes during an Australian domestic one day match (both teams combined) – NSW (15) and Victoria (11) – Total 26
