Network Ten to take the KFC T20 Big Bash League to the masses

The Sydney Sixers have today welcomed Network Ten to the KFC T20 Big Bash League family after the announcement of the broadcast rights deal for the next five years, worth $100m.

The deal, which will take the BBL to the wider public with the free to air exposure, is an enormous win for the league after a successful two years on Fox Sports.

Network Ten’s decision to bid for the BBL rights shows the standing in which the league is regarded and takes domestic cricket a much wider audience for the first time since 2006.

The partnership will take the fun and entertainment of the BBL into the homes of all Australians as well as ensuring sponsors gain significantly more exposure than in previous years.

This also gives the Sydney Sixers the opportunity to compete on a similar level to the NRL and AFL in terms of commercial exposure for the brand.

“It’s a great day for Australian Domestic cricket and the KFC T20 Big Bash League tournament with the signing of the broadcast agreement with Network Ten for the next five years,” said Acting CEO Michael Dalton.

“This will allow us to access not only the hearts and minds of Australian’s, but now also their living rooms as we continue to aim to attract new fans.

“The commercial benefits for the teams will also be significant as we look to secure the competition’s financial future.”

The Sydney Sixers look forward to working with the Network Ten sports team and taking the BBL to the next level.
