Dean Jones; Aussie fan favourite, natural showman and a dashing stroke maker is now taking on a new challenge. A key member of the Australian side that won the 1987 World Cup and 1989 Ashes, Deano is now the national ambassador for MS Australia.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a debilitating neurological condition that affects largely young adults (affecting three times more women than men) with four Australian’s diagnosed with it daily.
To raise funds for research and spread awareness Deano will be embarking on a trek from Melbourne to Sydney in December. He’ll be joined by some of his old teammates along the way with his former Captain, the awe-inspiring Allan Border to accompany him for the Bowral leg of the trek!
Allan Border united a nation by leading Australia to both World Cup and Ashes victory in the late 1980s. His legacy remains significant in Australian Cricket today with the coveted Allan Border Medal that is presented annually to the most outstanding Australian Cricketer across all forms of the game.
