Major Heritage Acquisition

We have just recently secured 35,000 vintage prints from the US which spans all Australian cricket series from 1920 to 1975. The collection is historically significant as it represents the continuous SMH press photos of 1st-class match-related cricket images before, during, and well after the Bradman era in NSW. Essentially it captures all big-cricket played in NSW for the majority of the 20th Century. QANTAS has agreed to airfreight the first batch of 16,000 prints to Sydney next week. Fairfax media have been supportive of our acquisition and are assisting with the negotiations. In addition, Holman Industries has pledged financial support to enable the Museum to move forward with confidence to ensure that all cricket related prints are secured by the Bradman Museum.
