Hazlewood returns for NSW SpeedBlitz Blues

Tall paceman Josh Hazlewood will return to action for the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues in their crucial Bupa Sheffield Shield match against Victoria starting at the MCG on Thursday (7th). Hazlewood, who returns to State colours after appearing for Australia A, complements some strong pace bowling options, alongside Doug Bollinger, Trent Copeland and Gurinder Sandhu.

In other news, Ben Rohrer will take over the captaincy of the side for the remaining two Shield fixtures this summer. Current captain Stephen O’Keefe has decided to stand down from the role for the final two matches to focus his efforts on playing. O’Keefe, who has done an excellent job leading the team for the past two seasons after taking over from Simon Katich, has been in excellent form recently, including an eight wicket haul against Western Australia last month. He was unlucky to miss selection on Australia’s current tour of India and will look to further his cause over the coming weeks.

The squad is:
Ben Rohrer (Captain)
Trent Copeland
Doug Bollinger
David Dawson
Brad Haddin
Josh Hazlewood
Scott Henry
Nic Maddinson
Peter Nevill
Steve O’Keefe
Gurinder Sandhu
Adam Zampa
