Cricket NSW selectors have named the Futures League squad for the re-arranged four-day match against Western Australia starting at Blacktown International Sportspark tomorrow (November 22). Originally scheduled to start on the 31 October 2011, the match was postponed by Cricket Australia due to the issues with travel that had arisen due to the Qantas dispute.
Sydney Thunder wicketkeeper-batsman Daniel Smith has been named as captain of a strong side, which includes NSW SpeedBlitz Blues rookies Sean Abbott, Nicolas Bills, Nathan Brain and Timm Van Der Gugten. In addition, Gordon left-arm opening paceman James Kennedy and St George opening batsman Kurtis Patterson are selected after strong performances in the Sydney First Grade competition for their respective clubs.
Sydney University batsman Scott Henry remains in the side after debuting for the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues in late October 2011.
Former Tasmanian wicketkeeper-batsman David Dawson has been retained in the twelve after debuting for the NSW 2nd XI in their previous four-day match.
