The NSW Blues now have 12 players called up for national duty following the release of Australia’s KFC T20 squad this morning.
Sean Abbott, Doug Bollinger, Pat Cummins, Nic Maddinson and Shane Watson have all been chosen for next month’s three-match KFC T20 International series against South Africa in Australia.
They join Australian captain Michael Clarke, vice-captain Brad Haddin, Nathan Lyon, Steve O’Keefe, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and David Warner, who are preparing for the first Test against Pakistan, beginning in Dubai on Wednesday.
Steve O’Keefe is the latest NSW Blues player with a chance of making his Test debut.
Nic Maddinson made his T20 debut for Australia in India a year ago when Doug Bollinger last represented Australia during the World T20 in Bangladesh last April.
Pat Cummins returned to international cricket with Australia’s T20 team in the United Arab Emirates earlier this month while Sean Abbott made his T20 and one-day debut for Australia in the UAE.
