NSW Rookie Ben Dwarshuis has claimed the final spot on the Sydney Sixers BBL|03 playing roster, finalising the squad for this summer’s KFC T20 Big Bash League.
Dwarshuis, 19, was named 12th man in last week’s Bupa Sheffield Shield team in his first year as a rookie with the Blues.
The all-rounder has been on the radar of NSW selectors for a number of years and Sixers head coach Trevor Bayliss was delighted to add him to the playing squad.
“Ben is a young player with natural talent. He has been good to have around the NSW squad this season,” said Bayliss.
“He’s an all-round player who will be a strong asset on the field with the bat and ball.
It will also be an excellent opportunity for him to learn a lot over summer from some of the senior blokes in the squad such as Brett Lee, Chris Tremlett and Marcus North.”
BBL|03 is now only a month away and as the temperatures rise heading into summer, so does the action behind the scenes as the Sixers work to ‘magentify’ the SCG and convert it into Sydney’s Party Central.
Four home matches over the course of the school holidays and a ticket price of just $42.50 for a family of four make this year’s Big Bash the hottest and best value ticket in town.
Tickets are on sale now through Ticketek.
