The Sydney Cricket Association’s Committee of Management has made the decision to abandon play on day two (November 29) of all Round Five Sydney Grade matches, from First Grade through to Fifth Grade, as a mark of respect following the tragic passing of Phillip Hughes.
All matches will be declared a draw with no points awarded in any games.
Matches in the Poidevin Gray Shield and Sydney Women’s Grade competitions will be played as scheduled on Sunday, with Sydney Shires and Women’s Third Grade matches continuing as scheduled on Saturday.
Phillip Hughes represented the Western Suburbs club in the Sydney First Grade competition after moving to Sydney from the State’s North Coast.
