Cricket NSW Blues Players Visit the Bradman Centre

Players from the NSW Blues squad will head to regional areas of the State early next month to show their support for grass roots cricket as part of the annual Cricket NSW Toyota Country Blitz.

The aim of the Toyota Country Blitz is to help promote the sport in regional areas at the grass roots level, and to encourage boys and girls of all ages to sign up and play for their local club this summer.

The following players will be involved with the Bradman Foundation in this year’s Toyota Country Blitz: Nic Maddinson, Moises Henriques.

As part of their three day visit Maddinson and Henriques will be involved in conducting a coaching clinic with local rep cricketers at Bradman Oval in Bowral.

On Thursday 5 September from 5:30-6:30pm the NSW Blues players will be holding a question/answer session as well as being available to sign autographs. We encourage all keen cricketers of all ages to come down for a chat with boys, autographs and photos.

The NSW Blues will also be delivering the ‘Plan B’ drink driving campaign on behalf of their Major Partner, Transport for NSW The campaign says you can still have a drink on a night out, but you should plan your way home beforehand or find a Plan B to get home if you are already out.

General Manager – Game Development NSW/ACT, Cameron French, said the Toyota Country Blitz recognizes the importance of regional NSW in maintaining cricket’s position as Australia’s favorite sport:

The Toyota Country Blitz is a wonderful opportunity for the NSW Blues to connect with fans in regional NSW, as well as helping to grow the sport. Several members of the current squad, including Trent Copeland, Nathan Lyon, Nic Maddinson, Chris Tremain and Daniel Hughes, are products of Country cricket and we hope that these visits play a part in inspiring the next generation of young cricketers to take up the sport.
