Cricket New South Wales today appointed David Moore to the role of General Manager – Cricket Performance.

The role was created after an April re-structure that combined the three departments of State Cricket, Operations and Umpiring into one elite cricket function.

Moore, was offered the role after an exhaustive search and interview process involving a number of high quality internal and external candidates.

A former New South Wales player, Moore also has extensive experience in coaching and coach education, including acting as Head Coach of the West Indies (2007), Senior Coach at the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence (2002-04), National Coach of the Bermudian Cricket Team and more recently Coach Education Manager at Cricket New South Wales.

Cricket New South Wales CEO Andrew Jones commented: “I am very pleased to announce the appointment of David Moore to this vital role within NSW Cricket. David combines intelligence and drive with extensive local and international coaching and educational experience. Like all past Blues players, he also has a deep knowledge of, and passion for, NSW Cricket, and wants us to be the best. I am confident he will help the Blues and Breakers coaches and players build on their recent success and also drive sustainable improvement through our male and female pathways.”

Moore’s appointment is effective immediately.
