Victoria started day two of the Bupa Sheffield Shield match at Robertson Oval in Wagga Wagga on 0-11 after bowling NSW out for 206 on day one.
Nathan Lyon gave NSW the perfect when he had Rob Quiney (9) brilliant caught at cover by Stephen O’Keefe.
Lyon then claimed the wicket of Test team-mate, Chris Rogers, who was caught by Nic Maddinson in the slips.
O’Keefe dismissed Cameron White (10) and Peter Handscomb (0) before Lyon removed Matthew Wade (4) to have Victoria five wickets down at the lunch break.
Doug Bollinger was the star of the second session as he claimed a hat-trick, removing Peter Siddle, Chris Tremain and Scott Boland to leave Victoria reeling at 9-108.
O’Keefe took the last wicket to fall, with Victoria’s top scorer Marcus Stoinis (64) caught in the deep by Sean Abbott.
O’Keefe was NSW’s leading wicket taker with 4-46, while Doug Bollinger (3-16) and Nathan Lyon (3-38) claimed three each.
Leading by 92 runs, NSW lost Scott Henry (0) on the first ball of their second innings while Ryan Carters (13) fell soon after the tea break.
Kurtis Patterson (14) and Moises Henriques (0) were then dismissed with successive deliveries before a 138 run fifth wicket stand between Peter Nevill (59) and Nic Maddinson (93).
The loss of those two saw a flurry of wickets late in the day as NSW went to stumps on 8-212, a lead of 304 runs.
