The Radford Scholarship is awarded in memory of Robert Michael Radford AM (1943-2004) and is endowed by the Radford family.  Bob Radford was Secretary and Chief Executive of the NSW Cricket Association, 1976-1995.  He was a founding member of the Bradman Foundation and served as its Chairman, 1993-1997.  The Radford Scholarship is administered by the Bradman Foundation.

This Scholarship is designed to assist young cricket administrators to gain knowledge, skills and experience that will benefit their careers and through them, the game of cricket.  This assistance may include but is not necessarily limited to; contributing to the cost of study tours to gain experience of administrative methods elsewhere; contributing to the cost of secondments to other relevant organisations, contributing to the tuition and other costs of enrolment in a tertiary course of study which will benefit the applicant’s career in cricket administration.

More than one Scholarship may be awarded in a year however the amount of each Scholarship will be determined by the Foundation, with regards to the funds available and the quality of the applications received with no more than $10,000 being distributed in any one year.  Each Scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of one year but may be renewed at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

Essential Criteria

The applicant must currently be in an administrative or trainee position in an Australian National, State, Territory, regional organisation which has as its primary purpose the overseeing of the game of cricket within its area. Applicants must;

  • Have completed secondary education i.e Year 12
  • Currently hold a role in cricket administration
  • Have passed their eighteenth (18) birthday in the year beginning the Scholarship and be under thirty eight (38) before the closing date for the application
  • Be an Australian citizen

Applications will be assessed in the order they are received.
