Batting For Afghanistan

19/11/21 Category: News Posted by:

The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan is heartbreaking. With more than 3.5 million Afghans displaced internally and up to 665,000 feeling the country since the start of the year, the situation is dire. Thankfully, you can help.

The UNHCR, in partnership with Special Representative and former Australian cricket captain, Ian Chappell, has launched #BattingForAfghanistan. A virtual campaign that allows everyone to help, you can either purchase a virtual bat ($25) or bid on a range of incredible sporting memorabilia and experiences.

All funds raised will support the UNHCRโ€™s lifesaving work in Afghanistan, providing food, water and shelter for the Afghan people, as well as the provision of assistance, education and health services.

It is heartening to see the unifying power of sport in action yet again, as people of the cricketing nations of the world show their support for Afghanistan.
