All Abilities Multi-Sports – Come and Try Day – Bradman Oval

11/03/16 Category: Blog, News Posted by:

The Bradman Foundation is running an activities program for secondary school students who have any type of disability. In our association with Cricket Australia we are forging new relationships with others and are committing to enable access to sport for all Australians regardless of ability.

The activities are aimed at improving individual motor skills and will include catching, throwing, running and hitting a ball, with the aim that participants will increase their confidence and their hand and eye co-ordination. At present, 2% of club cricketers are people with a disability, we would like to grow this participation and increase opportunities in all sports.

Participants will be engaged through a variety of activities including mini tennis, soccer, cricket and Frisbee giving them the opportunity to participate in an assortment of sport based exercises. The multi sports stations will be run on Bradman Oval with ten participants at each station. The sessions will be based on a ten minute rotation between each activity.

The Bradman Foundation has a proven record of developing activity based programs in partnership with community groups such as Rotary’s Dream Cricket.
While we are encouraging secondary students to attend these Come and Try dates, all students are more than welcome to participate and benefit from the program. If you would be interested in including your students or children in this positive program, or if you have any further questions please contact the Bradman Centre Cricket Officer, Jock McIllhatton on 0439690026 or by email [email protected]. Please ring or email to confirm numbers.
